Semi-naked store dummies come in for police action in Gaza
    Iran Herald
    Wednesday 28th July, 2010

Shops in the Palestinian enclave of Gaza have been told to dress their window mannequins to ensure lingerie is not on show.

In another campaign to enforce Islamic public morality, Hamas police have decreed it is forbidden to display revealing clothes in women's clothing shops.

They have also banned dressing rooms and tinted windows.

Only a short time ago, Hamas rulers in Gaza decreed women should refrain from smoking water pipes in public places.

They also tried, unsuccessfully, to force female lawyers in court and female school students to wear traditional Muslim clothing.

Public backlash later caused the rules to be withdrawn.
